SPIGOT BEARING - SLIDE HAMMER from Burton Engineering.
They can get stuck in the crank and not come out, then you have to use a hammer and sharp chisel or drill them out.
So I bought a SPIGOT BEARING - SLIDE HAMMER from Burtons.
3 pulls on slide hammer and its out. nice and easy removal.

Sounds as though the clutch is either dragging or the friction plate isn't sliding on the splines well, did you apply some clutch grease to the splines ?
You can adapt/make a puller for these quite easy, but also can be bought small and compact ones, that work 100%, but as said can always collpase in, but doesn't sound like spigot, though could be if very tight.

little update
couldnt get the bearing out with a puller/ slide hammer so welded a m8 nut in and wound it out with a bolt just a shame i fucked about with slide hammer and pullers for 2-3 hours on and off
The bearing didnt look to bad but the new one seems to have sorted it
the clutch has only done 500 miles and it was all brand new alcon parts with a ford release bearing
so I am happy-ish again now but I will definitely having a 2 post lift at the new garage at home
