Default sierra diffs

i welded the diff in my sierra and yesterday when i was parking i heard a twang and now i've only got drive on one wheel, now i'm guessing the splines have stripped on one of the shafts but what i need to know is how do the shafts come out of the diff on the sierra? i've never taken one out before (i welded it while it was in) and i'm going to put it on the ramp tomorrow to fix it

thanks for any help
