Mate is thinking of getting a xr 4x4 2.9. Hes wanting to now, is it costly to do the conversion?
Will the standard engine take 9psi of boost?
Are the engines expensive to rebuild?

Thanks 4 any advice.

the kits pop up on ebay from time to time matt. the heads were machined out on the factory examples to lower the compression slightly. mine made 260hp on 9psi of boost. it wouldn't take any more boost though before it started detting.

i built mine up from scratch and yea it is a bit costly but yea a standerd angine will take 9 psi no probs go and have a look at skogenracing.com they use stock engines if i was to start again i would have done it like theres lot cheaper have a look at my profile if ya intrested

Cheers lads, he thinks he will pic one up cheap! but my argument is he may aswell go 4 a cheap sapphire cossy, but he thinks £2500 will see him finished, but i not to sure.
