Don't understand having a collection that never gets used, like stacking a bookcase when you can't read

Not into Knives but Bought this Kershaw Knife off Snap-On a few year back and love it.

Razor sharp JAP steel. Looks good hanging off a jacket while Ridge walking.

you are in a fashion

"As far as tactical knives go: I like the security a knife gives me in a situation where having a knife on me can make the difference between serious trouble/injury or not, and even possibly life and death"

i dont doubt your a nice guy or even have one for the right reasons but with your background and size what do you think is going to happen if you get in a situation and you end up using it? i dont think its a plaster hes going to be needing

if you had trained with the right martial art in the first place then you would be alot better equipped

A knife can kill very easy, what ever the knife is, but certain knifes are made for killing just like a AK47.

why don't you collect stamps lol

Ah had to be Wing Chun

I can argue muay thai against pretty much anything but WC is serious, old skool shotokan karate probably only style more 'effective'.

I've done boxing and jiu jitsu for years but just started muay thai last year, can't hear a bad word

Over here it is not illegal to carry a knife on you, although certain types of knives have been outlawed.
There's a limit to the lenght of the blade, it cannot be double-edged and it can't have a 'thrusthandle'.
Still loads and loads of very very dangerous knivs that are perfectly legal then, and it's rare to hear of stabbings over here.

With regards to the killingcapacity of a knife: yes you can kill but if you can handle one properly you can use one in defence without killing someone...

The point been said is if it's there your more likely to use period!

Hence why knife's of the killing type are banned or not allowed on the street,

Same as gun's

If you think your allowed knife's then i think it's only fair u should allow gun's.

One rule for one and another for someone else.

There both dangerous period!

Used as a killing device!

Or is it fashion to look cool with a knife? If so i'll look well ard with my rocket launcher

if you could collect guns i would john,

a car is a very dangerous tool in the wrong hands which is also a killing tool if you wanted it to be, does that mean we shouldnt have cars aswell? lol

What are you on about? You ARE allowed guns, and I have quite a few...They're just licensed alot tighter. You can still get a gun illegally if you wanted, theres alot out there! But more people are killed by cars than guns...
As for you're comment 'Used as a killing device' well, you're wrong, they're not all used like that. I've been around guns and knives all my life, have I killed anyone? No I haven't, I use them for target/clay/re-enactment purposes not as a killing device.
I honestly wonder if some of you on here actually step out into the real world sometimes, or just sit on the pc reading news stories about how bad the world is...

A cars main role is transportion and guns main role is to kill, a knife fits into, a tool for work and a killing device. Just depends whos hands it's in and what type of knife it is.

Guns sold legally in this country are not sold to kill, they are sold for sport or game hunting.

Some of you don't seem to realise that just because someone has a gun or a knife that doesn't mean they are going to go and kill someone! Yes, there are some mental people that do, and I'm not sticking up for them in any way. But you can't taint every gun/knife owner as people who have them to kill!

Definately don't agree with carrying knives in public but at the same time i don't think that you can tar all knife collectors with the same brush as those mindless idiots that carry them in the street and are prepared to use them. I should imagine that most knife crime is committed using small sharp household knives not the type of collectors stuff being discussed here.
If you want to collect them fine but just keep them in the house not on the street.
