Driving skills
Has anybody gone any further with their training?
I know trackdays improve your skill no end, but also being a bike rider I know their are skills days, california bike school, off road days all of which help improve your riding. I was wondering if anyone has seeked to improve their driving abilities, IAM, skid control days, rally school, defensive driving tactics etc.
I have done further training, it has made me so much smoother, quicker everyone who has "chased" me or driven with me has noticed and as a by-product I am saving fuel which is a bonus, it did open up my eyes so more. If anything its things i already knew and did, but there was alot of use rekindling old skills, polishing them and learning some new ones.
Just wanted to know, after we ploughed so much money into our cars, do we do anything to preserve them, or enjoy their limits?

I passed my IAM Advanced Test last week
Well recommended, my driving is now a lot smoother, with a lot of it being down to observation, reading the conditions and road. They also give you good info on stuff like bend positioning (similarish to racing line, but optimised for visibility), bend limit point etc.
I enjoyed it, learned a fair amount and hopfully it'll reduce my insurance a bit. There have been a few threads on Advanced Driving on here.
