Hobnobs are better.
Its just interesting to know, as the power needed is massive, but there are plenty o powerful YB's around close to capable?
I don't know anything about achieving that speed, but a conversation popped up about Fords that have cracked it.

ro'd done it numerous times
martin's done it although i'm not sure how many times
martin has said enough
rod is going to go for a bit more than the 206.something he's already done
other than that, there was dave who nearly had it but has now bought an evo and some chap who reckons he'll do it for around Ł10k

Just how many Fords have tried/achieved 200mph
Its just the general package, its not just a power race, but suspension, aerodynamics, and the like. Tyres etc.
I thought it would be a good base for a discussion, I was wrong

as a rough guide, to do it in a saff cosworth you will need 700bhp to achieve it, this can either be done with a big turbo or nitrous or a combination of both.
suspension wont make much difference but being lower to the floor helps aero, just taking the wing mirrors off will be fine.
Tyres should be fine but then as you see with martin, get a bad tyre and it goes very wrong.
my thread talks about 200mph a fair bit if it helps

Rod's had done 200 both on and off nitrous long before Martin's did, but it was never officially timed off the gas as obviously all the record breaking runs were done on gas, Rod being a stickler for the rules never quotes any times other than official ones, but it has done it, so your comment is very inaccurate as it implies his car hasnt done it, which of course it has.

201 OFF 210 ON are unofficial times recorded, best official time off gas is 183.2 back in 2002 & 206.08 on set in 2005. The 206.0 set in the damp shows how weak that official record is as accleration was terrible below 175 on that day & gas used only iover 185 we only used 1.4miles of the runway.

You can do whatever you want, you can say you did 300 if you like, but it obviously wont change the facts about Rod's car, and IMHO its pretty sad to imply you think they arent accurate unless you actually believe Rod is a liar and im sure you know him better than that!

The hobnob thing is even more tedious than bickering over topspeed runs.
Some witty people on here, but scare me and tell me how old that picture is.....six years?
