I struggle moving around the bike for corners, but I do need to slim up a bit, I'm 17 stone at the mo.. Biggest prob was not being able to get in the bubble and see where I was going due to glasses, but had laser surgery just before xmas, so waiting for some decent weather to see if it has helped at all!

It's only my wrists that bother me, my back etc is fine, my wrists ache after 5 mins of being on the damn thing
good luck with it in the summer

I'm just shy of 5' 11" but even so its a right pain, so much so im thinking of selling it in the summer and getting something more user friendly, which is a real shame as i love everything else about the bike, the engine note, handling, response, looks etc, theyre just fuckin gorgeous!

RED16,if you love the bike so much why dont you change the clip ons to something more suitable,i bought a set of vario-bars for the r1 i can lift them up and down and forward and back to any position, i like think they were about Ł185,i think there cheap compared to what you would lose by selling.

aajbarker its an nsr 250 sp,dry clutch, magnesium wheel model, ive had it 10 years now, bought it straight off the ship from japan.its got way to many mods to list, the only things left unmodified are the tank and rear magtek wheel.bodywork is proper rsw from speedfiber in spain, there the same company that make the 250 gp bikes bodywork, the fairing is fibreglass but the seats bare carbon and a work of art.

my first bike a cbr600. great first bike. had it 2 years and was quick enough to keep up with most things on the road. dont know how . had it 2 year.
sold the cbr and didnt have a bike for a few month until i got offered this gsxr750 for cheap so had to have it.
sold the gixxer after a few month as to be honest the cbr6 was quicker and it was middle of winter and wanted to spent it on my mk2 escort.
ended up selling the escort in july and a week later i seen a nice fireblade up westgate road and my mate convinced me to buy it.

This is one of my good mates r1 its pretty much a track bike, but its road legal

Well after staying off bikes for ~8 years (last bike was a brand new '99 blue R1) I got myself another one. Wanted something different/rare, plus buying a modern refined bike just seemed too easy!lol
Anyway I ended up getting a 1985 Suzuki RG500. It's a square four 500cc two stroke - basically four 125cc engines bolted together hence the four exhausts pipes....
When I first got it:
When I had it on the road back in August, notice the modern forks, brakes, wider wheels etc etc:
And one final one after I fitted the GSXR swingarm:

Oil cooled is where its at. Shame i had to get rid I wouldn't have another road bike as there are too many people that just dont see you
This bike was some of the best fun ive ever had. Here is a pic of it as I was fitting some dynojetted slingshot carbs
Notice braced swinging arm, GSXR400 USD froks set up for my weight and 17" 3 spoke slingshot wheels. It was one of the smallest bikes ive ridden. I miss it
