I was reading some random turbo stuff on various websites and more than once i saw written that in certain situations a BIGGER a/r exhaust housing would speed up spool up of the turbo compared to a smaller one?

I cant find any of the exact articles (il look again if anyone wants a read) but they basicly said in some situations (which ones i forget ) a bigger exhaust housing will aid spoolup of the turbo due to less backpressure

That makes no sence to me Bigger downpipe to give less backpressure aids spoolup yea, but i thought a bigger exhaust housing a/r would always slowdown spoolup...
