if you are running windows as i think you are

xp: start -> run -> type msconfig -> enter
win vista/7 just type msconfig in the "search felt" -> enter

go to where it says boot

press the key on keybord where it says prt sc/print screen

open paint

hit ctrl + v (paste)
save the picture in .jpg format

post it here and i will tell you what to turn off
sure you have to do it in 2 or 3 times (print screen thing)

Have you defragmented it recently? Type defrag into the start search box bit and run that. If its not been done for ages might take an hour or two to run mind!

How about a registery cleaner? I use www.ccleaner.com and find it works really well.

Clears off all the crap you don't need, it will also get rid of any passwords etc that you have got saved so make sure you know them!

Mine went really slow because of corrupt sectors on the hardrive. To check open 'my computer' and 'right click' on the C:/ drive (or what ever drive windows installed on) and select propeties. On the 'tools' tab select error check. Next dont let it fix file errors (dont know why but my computer didnt like that selection, but let it attemp to repair bad sectors. Let it run and see if ur hardrive has corrupt sectors.

Don't bother downloading google chrome, if there is a problem with your computer sticking a new browser on it won't make the slightest bit of difference and may just cover up an underlying fault.

Try that ccleaner and see what happens

Just a FYI but on Vista/Window 7 there is no need to use the print screen open paint carry on, if you go to start>accessories and choose Snipping Tool it will let you take a screen grab more easily

And for quickness just right click on the snipping tool icon in accessories, choose properties, shortcut tab and where it says shortcut keys put in a shortcut. I have my shortcut as holding down ctrl, alt and the S key
