i-Phone alternatives?

i-Phone alternatives?
As title, what other options (such as Blackberry / Nokia E71 for example) are there, and what ones offer the same or better features?
Fancied an I phone, don't fancy the prices, and maybe able to get a good alternative at less cost as part of an upgrade.
Who knows what's good?
Si

I have the iPhone now, but due to upgrade in a couple of weeks, but for me it will cost £184 to upgrade to the 3gs and I don't like the idea of paying out that kind of money.

HTC is the only phone on spec with iphone. Just have to wait a while till they make a few more applications. The iphone has 90,000+ applications. HTC is a better phone, higher resolution screen and better internet processor etc

gonna cost me £87 to upgrade my phone to the 16g 3Gs iphone and my contract comes in at just under £35 a month.... don't think that's bad to be honest.
I know if you are on pay as you go you can now buy an iphone 16g 3Gs from O2 for about £440.

the sony ericson satio is touch screen and has a 12.1 mega pixel camera is a good alternative, there were a few problems when they came out but iirc they have been corrected now. i bought a sony ericson w995, its got an 8.1megapixel camera, no problems at all and its alot cheaper than an iphone

Sod that, you don't want a phone with any form of Microsoft software on it.
Android is the only capable competitor for the iPhone.
Have a look here for more info.

I don't know if it is available in the UK but here, in the US, the Verizon "Droid" is a very good competitor for the iphone. It runs the Android version 2.0 OS. The only problem I have is the camera is a little slow to focus but it takes good pics. It is a large screen and the virtual keyboard works well.

HTC Touch pro 2 is what i have, top phone for my needs
My 5th windows phone over the years, wouldnt use anything else!
Does everything I need it to do, very customisable, would say is has the biggest amount of programs ( or apps iphone speak ) available, just not in one easy place like the apple stuff.

I spent a year looking for somthing other than an iPhone as I hated apple. After waiting for the N97 to appear, I was so dissapointed with the N97 I got an iPhone just to try it out..... Total convert now, there is still not a better phone on the market IMHO, it is just such a good tool to use, the user interface is brilliant, and all of the so called issues make next to no differece in the real world. The only thing I would change is a better camera with a flash, but it is a minor problem for me......
Get a 3gs, you won't be dissapointed.

I got the Blackberry Storm 2 a few weeks ago. It was free on a £35 a month contract with Vodafone. I was initially after an i-phone, but was finding that unless I had the money to buy a handset SIM free, all of the contracts that supplied one were uncompetitive.
It took a bit of getting used to as like the iphone it's a touchscreen and i've only ever had Nokias before and normal keypads. However, it's fast, efficient, easy to navigate and overall i'm very pleased with it!

Been said a couple of times but the HTC hero is very good, some one above said its a bit ugly but its just not blingy that's all, personally I think its quite smart. Next thing is no it doesn't have as many apps as the iPhone yet but most of those are either useless or copies of other apps. The HTC hardware is very good indeed and Android is brilliant, plus its open source. It won't disappoint you.

I've had a Nokia E71 for about a month now. Love it!
Shiney metal case is
Only downside is I dont think you can rearange the icons on the menu screens so you have to scroll over loads to get to the ones I use most.

really liking my N900 at the minute. the software is leaps ahead of the N97 but doesn't have mms capability. the N97 is a fantastic tool too if you have up to date software. just the N900 is better to use.
