after much umming and arring i got myself a saab 9-3 hot turbo, got it stupidly cheap due to the demise of saab. anyways, im after getting it remapped and originally i was thinking of getting abbot racing to do it, however after doing a little search i have found an agent very local who works on behalf of evolution chips, which i believe it something to do with mr stu of msd?
My question is, are they any good, and more to the point, anybody had a saab chipped with said chip?

I know plenty of people who have had evolution chips and been happy with the results, but not specifically on the Saab lump.
Its actually possible with some of those Saab trionic ECU's to convert them to be remappable and DIY it apparently, so might be another option to consider.
Abbot seem to have a fairly good name amonst the troll lovers in this country though, so I should think you are in fairly safe hands either way.
That engine will go into a mk3 astra quite easily, so if you crash the saab on the icey roads, there is your next step
