Default Engine Numbers???
Does anyone know if a Engine number should be just numbers? or Letters too?
Number on engine is 27E 92. But was told engine was replaced at fords due the chain failure. log book states 509 73.

Engine number from the factory will be 2 letters designating the month and year of manufacture and 5 numbers signifying the production number.

"27E92" is probably 27892.
