Fact is its Cowells show on ITV and they've been getting Chritmas #1 for years but this time people got fed up with it and so 'elected' a OLD song number one which didn't have CD's in shops or was plastered all over the place. Neither is it the kind of song that usually frequents the charts at this time. Battle won I say.

Speaking for myself as well, I put the laptop on and listened the Radio1 chart show, not done that for years so at the very least its caused excitement.

I think its a great result - it maybe only 1 week of the year but it just goes to show that people passionate about 'real' music can make a difference. Well done all those that bought Rage, helped to make a statement, and showed two fingers to this latest Karaoke effort.

All these people blabbing on about a connection between Cowell and the sales of Rage's single... there isn't one!

Cowell is associated with Sony: he is below them in the chain, he will not be seeing any proceeds from Rage's sales.
