Sunny, anyone already with a PDA/Phone would naturally be best using a mobile version of tomtom but anyone who hasnt got a PDA/Phone and needs/wants SatNav would be better investing in tomtom GO as its an all in one device with no wires needed and boots up instantly, and is far superior than a PDA running tomtom software Ultimately though you dont need to know how to use a PC/PDA to use it so all the family benefit! however it is more expensive, but best so far is eBuyer for Ł399.90!

Ok, had it running for a few days now. Very impressed. Downloaded Checkpoint and UK speed camera's & notifications etc.....works VERY well! Even made my own .wav files for speed camera notifications...."gatso speed camera approaching in 30 secounds....SLOW DOWN YOU PRICK!" & "gatso speed camera approaching in 10 seconds.....SERIOUSLY HIT THE BRAKES OR YOUR FUCKED!" - works a treat!

Rob - Buy the hardware mate, I got all of the s/w.

Thanks - Sunny.

Ranj - I have the Tomtom Bluetooth GPS box. Very small and good build quality. Costs around 100 notes.

Rob - you need a GPS reciever mate. You can buy a GPS XDA2 cradle which is compatable OR you can buy a Bluetooth GPS box like mine.

The reason why my downlaod was 4.3gig is due to it having ALL of the road maps for the whole of Europe on the DVD. You only need to install the GB maps however it's useful to have if your travelling abroad. Lastly you will need a SD memory card. I would recommend atleast 256mb as they are very reasonably prices nower days.

btw - Ranj, Rob & Justin - don't worry about d/l'ing 4.3gig's if you need all of the European maps and app as I will gladely post it to you guys.

Speak soon..

Sunny.

the tomtom GO 4.4 software has the toll road on it, I gave the CD with it on to a colleague with a PDA and tomtom and he copied the maps over but it didnt work... until he got a hack which was a file called great_britain.map or summat which once put in his tomtom folder allowed him to use the maps so get hold of someone with a tomtom GO and nick the CD for a few mins!
