i absolutely love the look of the later evo 1/2 models and would love to own one of them but someone is looking to trade an early integrale 8v in on one of my cars.it looks a nice car and recently imported so in good condition but just think they dont look as nice as the later ones....
also what is the 8v engine like in standard form?
only ever had a hf turbo many years ago-liked the interior etc but dont remember it being very reliable!

i had an 8v never had any probs with it apart from clutch release bearing noisy, and was quite cheap to fix,
mine was lowerd on comp th's i think there called? it looked really nice, dont worry about the oil light comin on when ya go round a corner either,it sais in the handbook that it does come on from time to time lol
wasnt the fastest thing ever but got plenty of attention where ever i went

Getting rare even here in Italy mate, quite honestly,if you can get a 16v version it'd be much better, that model is just so outdated now and only had 160hp.
It's got the same engine as the fiat croma t.8v so spares should be easier to obtain.Ecu is the L6 weber 1 like the cossy's 2wd ecu.
Cambelts can break but nothing like the 16v engine that had a totally inadequate design of belt,Balancer shaft belts can also snap.
Electrics can play up and the now famous shell cracking above the screen pillers due to stress can strike, especially on track prepared versions.
Door handles can break and on the evo-1 16v versions the rear tracking is reknowned to drift out causing tyre wear.
The seats are rubbish compared to the evo's Recaro speed seats but they wear badly on the bolsters.
If you decide to modifiy the engine junk the 8v injectors and fit the Weber
4 hole versions fitted onto the Fiat coupč t.16v motor, much better spay pattern to the old versions fitted to the 8 and 16v engines.

A mates dad has had one for years, Rotted out at the top of the roof at the back, it squeezed the bottom end shells out, he did them again and it did it again so sent it to a specialist in the end to get it sorted, had to have quite a ebuild if i remeber rightly, went like fuckthoug, not been used for years though. just sat looking sorry for itself now

Mate of mine had one, pretty tame engine wise in standard form, drove nicely though.
You can get about 280bhp from them pretty reliably im informed by my mate who made a Y10 intergrale Hybird, and thats about what his was running on a fairly standard engine.

Not had any experience with the 8v motor. A mate of mine had a Evo1 on a K plate though. They drive nice and handle well but are prone to cracking around where A pillar meets scuttle panel, the rear of the roofs are prone to rot, tailgates around the screen seal and around the roof gutters go too.
If you get the chance to an Evo model then definately have a go of it. A well set up one sticks like its on fuggin rails
