Passats a great car
Radiator rots like fuck on bottom right corner though and common failure about 100k and its front end removed to access it, as is the turbo common for failure at around the same miles
PD Engines are fantastic BUT FSH is a must as is cambelt change every 60k
130 TDI is the one to have with prefffered 6 speed box but some have 5 speed boxes
Very well equiped cars though, climate control, elec heated mirrors and 4 elec windows as standard on the basic s model aswell as traction control

estate car
i've just bought an audi s4 avant(estate) it replaces my 328i touring bmw which i thought was a nice car... but the audi is in a different league.. a bit juicier but worth every penny. If you're after an estate and not worried about the fuel (about 20 mpg about town.... 28mpg on a run and 7.9mpg on a trackday at snetterton lol) i'd go for one of these,or if fuel consumption is an issue i'd buy a passat or audi tdi....
