hi all,
for a friend.... he needs a new navi... have looked at memory maps... but it seems you need one navi for road and one for off road... is this the case?
have read that a few people have a pda with tomtom for road and memory maps for off road...
is there anything better?
thanks!
this is what its for

OS maps - They're the Future!
seriously though, they are probably one of the best ways to nav through off-orad and along "whites". just make sure the roads are BOAT's (Byway Open to All Traffic) or similar and they are not Bridle ways.

People i've been out with have either had a laptop or PDA using memory map. Good old OS maps are still one of the best value ways but of course needs a bit of planning in advance. Some clubs have map marking nights!
As above BOATS or ORPAs are all that can be driven - legally. Still need to check on Wayfarer or with your local councils rights of way officer to see if the lanes are subject to a TRO or not.
And thats a tidy truck
