Default ally : steel welding

can you weld one to the other?

or would the lower melting point of the ally not aget the steel hot enough to adhere

im thinking about replacing the boot / rear seat floor and would like to use ally just to save weight

would there be much difference in weight? probably 5' foot square ish

How about looking into a bonded and riveted Aluminium structure? That might be a viable option.

Very, considering its welded to it via the chassis plates.

I cut it out for the tank and battery etc but replaced it back with steel for a reason.

Space framing a chassis with box section and carbon floor will add more weight than what it removes I guess.

Just get it done and use it

Otherwise its getting to be an expensive ornament

The highlight of the CMT® process is without doubt its ability to join steel and aluminum.

if your cage was tied into all the mounting points on your shell it would be easier
