Default advice on these pistons please :(

hello all ive got a set of pistons im planing on useing in a zetec turbo but the sides have scuffing to them as can be seen in the pics.

i have taken them to an enginear round the corner to me who has had a quick look at them

he seems to think they will be fine as they are only light scuffing and says they have not got hot

they did come out of a running engine but im just a bit worried

what do you lot think??

maybe the engine they were fitted in wasnt quite right

as in. possibly the piston - to - bore clearance was a little tight?

they must of been running a tight piston-bore clearance or the bore was the wrong shape or something?

I say dont waste your time, buy my new ZVH/Zetec turbo bottom end with JE's and be done

well the important bits are the rings.. so assuming you replace them with new ones, and the bores are dont have matching wear marks on them, you could reuse them.....

but weather I would reuse them, i dunno, when ya put an engine together its nice to know everything is as perfect as it can be really, especially when its got to deal with the abuse of 2 bar of boost or whatever.
