Default ST170 Dip beam bulbs

Ive just been quoted £50 for a bulb as they say they are Gas displacement type. Is this right or is this type of bulb only for the cars which have the Xenon headlights? (which mine dosnt?)

Cheers for any help.

£50 for one bulb? you clearly went back to ford didn't you? AFAIK the main thing that matters is the bulbs connector/shape/filment amount. it'll be either a 477 (seperate bulbs) or a 472 (combined)
go to your nearest halfrauds, they'll tell you which one

Do you have a headlamp levelling control on the dash next to the light switch?

If no, then you have the optional HID package and yes, bulbs are that dear.

If yes, then get a H7 bulb.

Not xenons mate as they wouldn't be manual adjusting they auto adjust. Standard H7 bulb fitment.

I have the headlamp levelling control on my ST170 but it's not HID!

white2lsr, you may want to take the bulb out and confirm.
