PMSL - Online X Factor Protest.....
Anyone seen anything of the online protest against X-Factor? Apparently 43,000 people so far have agreed to buy Rage Against The Machine 'Killing in the name of' in a bid to get that to number one instead of the X Factor winner!
It won't work IMO, but its kinda funny.

needs banning or moving to a different time of year , whoever wins is guarenteed to be christmas number1 hence nobody else bothers making christmas songs anymore. Pisses me right off its just a money making scam, I used to look forward to the genuine fight for the christmas no 1.

They have sold 83,276 downloads of their song Killing In The Name, while Joe has sold 77,401 of his version of The Climb, a cover of the Miley Cyrus hit. X-Factor are losing by a long shit!!!!

Christmas Number 1s are meant to be cheesy imo.
I joined the group on FB, 700k the last time I looked.
I don't know how true this is but apparently Rage against the Machine are on Sony. Sony own Simon Cowell's record label and most of the song rights for stuff his "acts" put out.
I bet Sony and Simon Cowell will be gutted that whichever way round, they'll be raking in the royalties this Xmas.
It'd be nice next year if these little rebellions weren't instigated by some record company executive and an actual new, talented act on an independant label got all this exposure rather than a 20 year old band looking to relaunch something.

No chance RATM will be at number one, isn't Joes track released on cd tomorrow ?
If so we'll see how its going a few days after that !
I also read that any track under 40p doesn't count in the charts ? although I expect all of us that thought that read yesterdays Sun newspaper

Rage against the machine have apparently said they will give every penny of royalties they earn to charity. Again, dunno how true that is.

It's been nice exposure to a new market that missed out on them the first time round. I have to admit, I wasn't a fan although everyone and their dog had the album

PF's Guitar God!!!
It will go to charity. Those guys have no worries in the money department. Especially since 3 of the members formed Audioslave with Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell. They were one of the best rock acts out there and sold load of records.
+ they ain't hungry fuckers like Simon Cowell. Simon Cowell has ruined MUSIC for everyone. Weather your a Singer, Musician, Session player, Band etc. They have no chance of being recognized in today's Music Industry no matter how much REAL talent they have.
