I remember this car very well. I supplied the RL7(they were EARS wheels back then) and had them engraved with the Ford Motrosport logo etc. When the car was featured Jim (Carter) gave them some B**LOX ABOUT HOW THEY WERE SPECIAL FORD MANUFACTURE FOR HIM!!!!. When I went to Jim's garage to measure up for the wheels he already had BBS splits (16") on it and the arched had been mullered to get them to fit so I trust that work has been returned to original!!

hi yes e55dgu was my old car ,when i bought the car off diablo,it was bought as a on going project.i spent a lot of money getting the car to my own personal taste, and also sueing joe steven,s of bluesprint, the money i spent was well above what paul paid for the car, also about the truth come,s out in the end statement you made, joe stevens had ample time to go to court, and state his case .he chose not to ,so the court gave the judgement in my favour,i have had various p,ms about joe steven,s work but as they have deceided not to come forward,as i have said before, everyone will make there own opinions on this matter,as 25000 is a lot of money for a car ,it would be adviseable to get all info on this car from mr linfoot rs registrar, about new body panel,s etc,

So thats why the RL7's were sold (possibly onto a magenta saph even though he knew the fronts had cracks).
I'm sure they would have stayed on E55 forever if they'd been strong enough, the inside of the spokes were recessed for lightness which made them too weak.
I never replaced the wheels as sold the car to DIABLO without them, not seen any wheels on it since that compare to the RL7, replacement RL7's weren't available back then.
In gold with the engraving and one off centre caps I honestly can't imagine a better looking wheel to suit it, I loved them and full credit to Jim for putting them on.
These are some of the last pics before I sold it:
The most fun i had was doing the Nordschleife, my first ever full lap in the 500 was 8:27 Bridge to Gantry and this was with no brake pedal for the last 3 miles.
Getting past an F40 at Silverstone was also nice and 177mph true speed at Bruntingthorpe too.
Its amazing what gets said by people that don't know the full storey, I occasionally miss the car but not all the Cossie owner bullshit that comes with it.
I remember the Grp A head gasket blowing at 170 down bruntingthorpe which was only down to the original GGR fitted gasket being 6 years old and corroded through and Mark Shead got the blame as it was now an MAD car just because he'd sat in it

funny ah that benzar slates joe for supposedly bad workmanship on this very car and yet it ends up back there???also some of the things that were supposed to be big problems rectified like the wastegate being to close to the brake lines, nms just taped the lines in some reflective heatwrap!!!the wastegate also still rubbed through the strut brace and yet joe was slated for a poor instalation on this and ray the last owner paid nms to rectify...
ray was also moaning that he was al down heartend and even lost money selling the car on but infact paul paid more for this than ray first did....truth always comes out in the end!!!!
the new owner paul has had some lovely rs and a few nice 500s never keeps them longer than 5 mins though...
cheers danny

I remember when Jim had it , was one of the best all round modded 500s back then and probably one of the cleanest modded ones to.Know Ray who owned the car recently to.
