the car starts up fine, but under excelleration the engine holds back, can anybody help me out on this?

Disconnect the maf and try it, should run better if it is at fault.

i had the same problem and can confirm that if you disconnect the maf as suggested and it pulls fine then it needs replacing. cleaning the element with alcohol may help but i got a brand new pattern part off ebay for <£50 delivered
