had a phone call today from 1 of our drivers he said im stood next to number 1
turns out he was delivering at a factory and it was there he spoke to some one about it it had been in a museum and this museum has just been closed down so is now back with the original owner im not 100 % sure if it was number 1 as im sure that number 1 was in fastford and owned by some one who lived abroad
plus i thought build number 1 was un-accounted for? all of the inlets have the build number stamped on them, and number 1 inlet was found on another car? (or was that number 500......?)

Yep no1 went to Norway and no500 disappeared donkeys years ago. apparently.
Ever started reading an old thread, just about to comment, then realise you had done years ago, and have no recollection of such!
Those are the original build run tags, and as you can see Ford were planning ahead a year before launch hence the 85 at the start, where as production tags were v86. The post production 1989 shells were always labelled with the motorsport 909 moniker though. Very few of those were ever used in anger as they simply arrived too late.
