Looks like it was poor maintenance to be honest. There was water in there and perhaps it was LONG overdue on the servicing, don't think it'd ever had an oil change.
Oh sorry guys, did I forget to mention that its not the Megane.

Thats not a motor mate,it is the pump,the motor drives the pump.Just thought you should know incase you order a new bit from clarkes and they send you a motor not a pump

Get onto air indutrial in east london i bet one of there compressors is cheaper than fixing your one and they go forever i have 3 electric and 3 petrol ones and would never use anything else.I still have the first one my Dad bought in 1996 still going strong with daily use pumping truck tyres.
