Default internet browser related q's

right, since ive got windows xp a few months ago ive found this really annoying thing, if your on a website and you want to open up another window to do somthing else u cant, it just cancels out what your looking at?

how do i make it so that it opens a new window instead of losing what your looking at?

Try this. Go to the TOOLS drop down menu at the top of the bowser, select INTERNET OPTIONS, and click the ADVANCED tab. You will see a list of commands with ticks (or no ticks) in the boxes. Scroll down till you see one that reads "Reuse Windows For Launching Shortcuts". Untick this box. Click APPLY, then OK.

Now when you LEFT-click a link, say an ebay link in a post on here, it should open it up in a new window, without you having to "right click, open in new window"

i think from what you are saying it is not a link you are having problems with.

Are you saying when you click the Internet Explorer icon to open the browser that it automatically pops it into the same window you are already in?

I use Firefox browser at the moment at work which isnt bad. That allows multiple windows open in the same browser as they appear as tabs.

As for your problem, can you confirm what it is otherwise do as Billabong says with the right click.
