It Wasnt Me!
I know of a guy who got the 'george clooney from dusk til dawn' tattoo on his arm, it looks horrendous, especially as he's a bit skinny...I just dont understand some people
Yours looks great, very well done but why a fish?

It's a koi.
It has meanings to it. (traditional japenese) it means courage and good luck.
And I love japenese style tattoos

for the first week its better for it to be that bit moist ( from the cream ) rather than bone dry and no cream. its really important to put cream on.

I've always used BEPANTHEN. For first 3 days I would wash tattoo with just water (no soap) and apply that cream 4 times a day then after 3 days I put it on 2/ 3 times a day without washing it first.

i've been walking about with short sleeved tops on all week, even in the freezing bloody cold

Now you should use some sort of cream then. Our guy gives out small pots of Tattoo Goo. Usually just enough for the healing on a good sized tattoo.
We then bought a tube of it as the pots are a bit greasy and can mark clothes. I think we got ours off ebay and its about the same price as bepanthen.
I know places say different things. Ours advises to keep it covered 3days/until it stops "leaking" wash with just soap and water after 24 hours and pat dry and re-cover it. Then apply non medicated cream once its scabbed over. Avoiding savlon etc....
If it gets a little dry once its fully healed you can use aftersun lotion but we've still got the Tattoo Goo.
The OPs Koi looks good i'd be pleased with that, i'm having a pair on my thigh eventually, theres other stuff i want done first. I'm just impatient and hate the in between look!

dont worry about that. i hate that too. you will get patchy bits which look shit but once all has come off and silver skin has healed it will looks the nuts

Im with ricky 2006 on this , Ive got two decent sized tatoo's and ive used Bepanthen on both of them with no problems at all , sense would say keep the skin moistured as the fluid helps the skin to heel better.

Hate the scab, itchy as sin! Like chicken pox you just want to itch like a bastard!!! Well worth it for the end result.
