my 3 door ele made 475bhp, but was lean on the top end so only reved to 6000rpm and then shut down as i didnt want it to melt. Would of made well over 500 if not. Now the engines coming out for a big spec wrc engine.

Doug's car wasnt getting full throttle on the day, it needed the throttle cable adjusting, he's done that now and it feels like its old self again.
His results were very weird though, I just dont see how they can be accurate, nothing to do with the flywheel figure he got, its the transmission losses and wheel figures that just dont seem plausible to me.
The figure he got was 446bhp (442 uncorrected), which given that he didnt have full throttle doesnt sound too ridiculous, but the thing that makes no sense to me is he had only 224bhp @ wheels and transmission losses of 218bhp to make up that figure.
I just dont see how that can possibly be true, how then hell can an escort cosworth lose HALF of its power between the engine and the tyres?
I just dont trust those figures at all personally!

Here is doug's graph, it looks like a restrictor engine from a rally car, lol
![](http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y251/chip-3door/misc/doug-limited.jpg)
You can see that it appears normal until 5800rpm, and then the lack of full throttle just totally limits it, the power flatlines at that point and the torque drops, and the dyno operator obviously saw this so backed off.
I've driven doug's car a few times when its not had a problem with the throttle and its nothing like that, it pulls very hard all the way to the limiter, and thats clearly where his missing 80-100bhp or so has gone on this occasion.
I guess that in future he will make sure he is getting full throttle properly when he goes to a rolling road day, very simple fix that would have seen him getting a proper result on the day instead of the figure he got, Im sure thats not a mistake anyone will make twice, lol!

Get him and the others onto a proper set of rollers - Dyno Dynamics or Dastek IMHO.
My Evo made 474 bhp @ the fly on TSR's MAHA rollers (same make as Power Station). A week later, my same car on Dyno Dynamics rollers made 424 bhp @ the wheels / 545 at the fly with no changes what so ever.
Something to do with the way they have to load the car up - on DD rollers the car is run hard and quickly - 5-10 seconds perhaps.
On MAHA rollers they seem to run the car up over a much longer period, not loading the engine at all, thus not creating full and proper boost - 25-30 seconds.
Is that how they ran them up at Powerstation?
My car now makes 474 bhp @ the wheels or 590 bhp at the fly with a slight map tweak
The 470 bhp figures quoted above I presume are flywheel figures? What did the cars make at the wheels (to avoid the silly calculations they are using)?
Those transmission losses are nothing short of ridiculous

me and dave built the engine, it was mapped to make this power so it was safe. Doug wanted it strong rather than massive power thats why it made the power it made its running spot on.

Because i remember Doug being on a GT35 and didn,t like that, could of sworn Karl did all the mapping etc then, maybe i was dreaming it
