right then, i've got my computer, that's a bit slow and crap
so now i've got a new computer, that's better
i want to use the new computer to do stuff with, but i need to use the other ocmputer to keep my older stuff on
so, other than swapping the hard drivers over, is there any wayi can simply use the new computer to work with and use the older computer as an additional source to access the stuff from?
i'm sure someone will know what i'm on about and explain, but that's about the best i can do at the moment![Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
they both have the differnt port in the back that youplug the different cables into, the cat5 cables? whatever they are called, them ports, and i'm sure i've had something similar set up before, so any online guides as to how to do it properly?
cheers

no wireless at this place mate ![Sad](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)
otherwise you wuold, i'm assuming, go and get one of them wireless adapters to plug into the back of the computer to hook things up with the wireless, thus leaving the eathernet port free to talk to the other computer
(i'm just guessing here, so don't take my word for it

If you only want access to files and pictures either plug the old drive into the new PC and copy everything to the new drive or leave the drive in place and copy everything onto a USB stick and transfer it, in several blocks if needed.
If you need access to programs on the old PC then you need a network hub / switch and plug both PC's in.
