iPhone question...
I'm just clearing my phone out and having a general organize.
If you go in iTunes you have a bar along the bottom showing how the phones memory is divided. Quite annoyingy I have quite a large (1.76gb) sector of "other" data. How can I get rid of this so I can make more room? What actually is it????

Is your phone jailbroken? Cos thats where your jailbroken apps and data shown up in iTunes. iTunes doesn't know what that data is (as obviously it doesn't support jailbroken apps and info) so it just shows it as other data. It's also where your operating system etc is stored, and I think your camera roll is there too (the "photo's" bit I think is for photo's you've synced over, not the camera roll)
If it's not jailbroken, then I don't know why you have 1.7gb of "other"

Phone not jailbroken...
I have found out what it is. I am installing an app that is 1.6gb, and it is a failed effort at getting it on. When I managed a full install it went away. The problem was that even though I had 3.2gb free, it kept saying I didn't have enough space to install the 1.6gb app... WTF! So needed to clear that lump of data so it would install.
