Default Surface Rust in the bores?

I'm doing a headgasket swap, removed the head and noticed the bores have a couple of weeks of surface rust on the. No pitting or anything. Is it something I should just clean up with some wire wool (or something less abrasive?) or will the piston rings do the job for me?

nothing to worry about will prob just wipe off with a cloth fella,if not use really fine emery(sp) cloth!would also turn the engine over by hand to make sure the rings aint stuck to the bores!
although highly unlikely!

It'll reseat the rings great

If its just your average engine i'd turn it over a couple of times by hand, it'll probably just rub straight off.
