on saterday night was happily playing sof2 and all of sudden had a power cut,went to turn my system on and nothing then looked at the front and its coverd in white lines so i guess it fried my system so i guess ill have to upgrade a few things next any 1 got any ideas on what board i should go for has to be athlon though

Mite be worth trying a new psu (power supply unit) in it. I had a power cut last week an it blew mine even with a surge protector fitted. There not that dear anything form 30 quid

Do you mean the monitor had white lines on it?

as above try another psu if that doesnt work then it must have taken your whole system.

For motherboards and other parts look on ebuyer, they have everything from expensive to cheap and you can tell which boards are best/ more popular because theres lots of customer reviews/comments, obviously read those and get an indication of whether or not its worth buying

yea ill have to try that and its the front of my tower which has white lines pretty mad realy as its only a plastic cover,well if its capoot gives me an excuse to upgrade but what to upgrade to? i still want athlon this was a duel core 5000+ so what do i upgrade to from that

possibly just blew the psu up, this is what happened to mine anyhow, i know use surge protectors

my last problem with mine is my heatsink snapped off my cpu and landed on my graphic card and shorted the lot out lol

cost me 1k to fix at the time and upgrade, i need to upgrade again next and ill be looking at 1.5k this time for a half decent system

Depends what you use it for, if its for gaming then look at the newer phenom's(i think it is) but even if your motherboard is intact then you will probably need a newer one to take the newer processor.
