Default Warren does cake!!!!

I decided to have a go at making a cake for Christmas.

Took me ages to find all the ingredients as the stupid supermarket keeps changing where they put everything on the shelves just to annoy me!!!

Anyway i eventually found everything i needed so proceeded to follow instructions!!

The first long job was cutting up loads of almonds!

And then mixing all the dry ingredients and the masses of fruit!!! the cake is more fruit than anything else it seems!!

I then did the sugar and butter which i had to beat until "fluffy"!!! Erm.... i had to get someone to explain that to me as to me fluffy is like cats/bunnys fur and i couldnt visualise how a cake should be fluffy!!!! But i got there in the end.

I then mixed it all together and added the brandy!!!! it seems quite a lot of brandy!! and i am supposed to add more in the next few weeks.

I then had to grease the tin. Now the instructions didnt tell you what kind of grease and i couldnt see any "Grease" for sale in the shop!!! I was thinking of the copper grease in the garage but its toxic and doesnt taste very nice so i didnt use that!! I rung someone up and asked them to find out then spooned it all into the pan.

And then to the oven for hours!!

After 2 hours i had to bring it out for greaseproof paper to go on top

And i then had to test it with a spike until it came out clean, then i let it cool down on a wire rack!!

I have to foil wrap it once its cool and then feed it with more brandy over next few weeks!!!

Bloke cakes

You only need to take one look at that donkey to know a womans hands did not create it.

Bet it tastes good tho.

Warren you forgot to crumble the hash in with the fruit.

That came out great for a first timer! I've tried a coulple of sponge cakes over the years, they come out more like extra large soft cookies it's not true women are naturally good at cooking and ironing

We are making our Christmas cakes tomorrow, we made the puddings last week and steamed them, they look great,

I do most of the cooking in our house and love it, women dont always make the best chefs

Looks good warren, are you gonna go the full hog and flat ice it and shit?

My Mum used to have a cake making business, if you get good at it you can easy get upwards of Ł100 for a standardish christmas jobbie.

TIP

warm the brandy and dissolve some brown sugar (level teaspoon) into it before feeding it to the cake.

I think you'll find most of the top renowned cooks are in fact men

I also do most of the cooking in our house, although over the last 15 years the missus has got a little better. She still cant cook a roast though

Try naming a well known female chef, delia smith and nigela are about it arnt they?

Nearly all cooking programs are men.
