Apparently a large bowl of rice works. Never tried it myself though.

If you search ebay for "moisture absorber" it will bring up what you're after or your local caravan accessories place will stock them. They're just known as moisture absorber/dehumidifier crystals.

Yes, yes it does. Salt is hygroscopic which means it has the ability to attract water molecules from the surrounding environment through either absorption or adsorption.

Just so you know Table Salt is different to Salt as it contains additives which prevent it from collecting moisture, calcium sillicate I believe

Yep it's available off the shelf, been a long while since I was at the caravan in the lakes and I am not posh enough to shop at Sainsburys so I couldn't tell you that if I am afraid.

Just check to see if it contains calcium sillicate, if it does you will not be able to join my club, boo hoo!

You put it in an ice cream tub!

i got told that moisture cant rise up through the wood, ill try and find the thread, and my bro's a scaffolder so they were free

my cars been on them for two winters and its never got remotly damp in or out and the garage gets damp in the corners, also if you dont want flat spots in your tyres if you leave your regular wheels on then put about 50psi in ya tyres before you park it up.

Do a search on here as I put up a thread a while back about the rechargeable de humidifiers that my dad uses in his caravan, I now keep one on the back seat of each car, been in there about 4-6 weeks and doing a good job on moisture, still not saturated yet either.
They contain crystals, but are of course re useable, charging also dries them out for re use.
About £20 a pair, even come with a attachment hook for each so can hang on coat hanger in car.
If in storage if you can leave a few windows partially open will help.
