Default Amature Race Series? Anyone know of any??

I was just surfing the net about Formula Ford/Renault, Carrera Cup, GT and so on and so on... but what struck me was they were all properly expensive race series aimed at people that one have the money to do it and two people who want to race in a professional manner...

And then you have Club Days where people can go and run cars round a track for a day.

But I couldn't actually find any competitive events aimed at the amateur.... you know what actually run a series and there is a prize at the end of it in which pretty much anyone can enter.

And now I am thinking why this is.

The Ford one is called the BOSS series l think but might be wrong the Scooby/Evo one l am not 100% sure what it is called and if you look at Castle Combe online l am sure they have details of there series,

The ambulance chaser that is watching this thread is looking at getting involved in a race series l think

I race in stock hatch championship ie 1600cc cars but its one of the most competative and biggest championship in uk. i love it i started last year and done fairly well (was the quickest XR2 in most of the races) im racing a saxo Vtr next year which is what all the front runners race as its a class A car. but its a fairly cheap championship look at the 750mc website.

Myself and clive (righthooker on pf) are both hoping and working towards entering the northern sports and saloon car championship next year, clive in his currently been built 3dr cosworth with hopefully 550bhp and me in my trusty xr4x4.. in the same class aswell lol
my car doesn't need much to be ready, but even then the costs are horrendous, race licence, suit, helmet, harness, transponder, fire ex etc all need buying. then there the car prep on top.

true. i paid a arm and a leg for my race saxo i didint get much change from 6k!!! but i its a full purpose built track car with all the safety you can think of and a brilliant handling, i think the initial outlay of the race suit, helmet etc is the worst part.

the brscc use to race, like above the xr challenge,
and the ford salloon challenge, iirc

there is also several series run at brands and lydden, which are open to most sallons and sports cars, but i can't remember what they were called, which is pretty lame actually, sorry, try the brscc website

Think its the Selock or P BMW that a couple of guys that I know race in, looks like a fairly low budget season. They all have to use E30 BM`s with either 1.8L or 2.0L standard engines, standard brakes and wheels, Toyo 888 tyres, cage etc.

Good crack by the looks of things.
