Default Bd14 inlet question

Does anyone here run or know wether you can get away using a BD14 inlet cam on a YB without valve cutouts?

I would get cutouts in your pistons to be on the safe side.

Has your head been skimmed much ?

Trouble is it turns into a major job if i have to go cutouts, but will of course, if i have to.

yes you can run them without valve cutouts but its close and obviosuly a head skim makes it even closer.

Not sure its worth the risk personally

if your engine is already up and running then its not hard to test..just put it in and start her up,unless the head has been heavily skimmed it wont do damage but if to close wont run well,if it runs fine your ok...iv done this on a few engines and have had to go down to a bd12 or even a bd10 if it goes coil bound...if your engine is out the car or in parts just get the valve cut outs done £80 all done...cheers danny
