hi im planning on doing a 1.8 16v dohc zetec conversion on a mk4 escort van. i have the engine but no loom. iv been looking round and im getting confused. i want to be sure in my head i know what im doing before i commit. im unsure what year the engine is, therefor im unsure of the bho. i think its a 130 standard, but does the loom effect the bhp? its the power determined by the ecu??? basically i aint got a clue what loom to get!!!! is there anything on the engine that tell you the bhp, year or model of engine???

has anyone got a loom kicking about???

Dont know about the looms but the difference between the 10 bhp and the 130 is something like, Different cams, Throttle body, Ecu program and for some reason want to say oil spray jets on the pistons, Im sure someone will add to and correct me if im wrong, With regards to the loom id say its the same as the things that make it run are the same.

 

looms are the same, its whats o the engine that adds tot he power

 

so i could use any loom from a 1.8 zetec? doent matter if its an xr3i or not?? but i need to avoid the ones with pats which im guessing is an imobiliser system.
