Just read the similar Rs turbo thread and wandered who's had they're RS for the longest, has anyone on here had and still own a cosie from new for example??? Do you plan to keep it...etc.
I bought my 4x4 in march 2001, still got it, and don't plan to get rid of it if i don't have to, although might have to sell up in the next few months.

Owned my Series 2 for about 4 years in total I think.

Rog I remember when your car used to roll on 18" Khans and I think I even saw them sitting in Checkpoint in Aberdeen before you got hold of them? Would that be right?! That was an awful long time ago now, I was 17/18.

Ha ha , yeah that'd be the ones, it went thru about 3 sets of those, i still have some in my lockup, toyed with the idea of putting them back on but i think i'll leave that for now.

I think that although some people change cars that much their probably cheaper just modding the one they have, part of the reason i haven't sold it because 6 months later i'd just buy another one anyway, so what's the point in selling it.

Had the car in my sig 6 years exactly , longest ive owned a car nevermind an RS, and no intention of selling , just got a harris pinto engine for it so that should keep me happy for a few more years

I think I've had my 3 door 6-7 years.

I normally get bored of cars after weeks and need to modify them of buy something faster. It helps that I never seem to drive the 3 dr. lol

Had mine since 19th Jan 2001 (I was 21!!) and it's still going well...

For the first time in it's life it actually lives in a heated garage!

I've done quite well... done 60k and only done 1 engine

Don't ask about gearboxes though that's another story

i used to read magazines and wonder HTF anyone could have owned soo many cars in their time but in the first 3 years of driving i averaged out 6months per car and its all become clear! fords are too addictive to me and there is always that other one thats a little bit nicer/faster! i have now owned my combi for almost a year and i dont intend on selling as its too damn kool and rare! (i said that about my string of orions as well haha) - although, it needs some tlc at the moment and once i get disheartened with my car, thats when i have usualy sold up!
