Well looks like it wont be too long for the next hike in power

Would love to have all set up by December for the charity day at Reylands Rolling Road

Think the concern is the Bara box and if it will take the next level, we will see

Can you explain what Open Scroll is please Mark ?

The turbo I sold Danny was a GT4088 twin scroll journal bearing, from what I could see it was the same as Rods old spec although I expect you may of made some small alterations to the stuff you supply and use.

Open scroll means not twin scroll. I'm guessing this is the trubo off gav's LET engine, whats he using now?

I guessed thats what it meant, Mark obviously missed that it was a twin scroll unit. It was gavs old one, he is now on a GT4094R although the engine isn't in the car yet but he hopes it will be by the end of the year so who knows how it will perform.

alot of people on this thread need to get over this "my tuner better at this" getting boring
Jimbo, Daves main interest is Top Speed, so when asked why he choose MAD over SCS, it seems fair enough to me to quote that MAD have a better record for top speeds so far with cossies than SCS as a reason to make that choice?

Just like Im sure Andy would quote that SCS are proven on track YB wise where MAD arent (although obviously MAD have won time attack with an evo etc so im sure Mark COULD do it with a YB, just like im sure SCS if they had a customer wanting to COULD do a top speed car)

I think you took that to heart when dave was just responding to a specific query, it wasnt dave that brought up SCS, it was that troll fella.

Only ones Ive ever heard of are Dave's and Martin's two.

I dont think the swedish lads really try top speeds on runways TBH

Even if they had, doing in in the confines of brunters is a real test and not the same as doing it on a longer runway

Depends where you mean in terms of abroad, the salt flats in the states have a massive following of "top speed" fans, the standing mile is another popular one over there and something else that Rod and Martin and Dave etc would do pretty well at.

Standing mile is better IMHO as it doesnt add extra MPH as a result of bigger brakes or bigger balls, so is a more pure indicator of straight line performance in that respect.

But yes, its certainly a reasonable benchmark.

surely with that gearbox dave you cant be expecting any descent quarter times,as with the torque you have will surely snap the choclate shaft, depending on how much grip you have ovcorse

Yes its true unless you know differently.

Martin 200.2mph
Dave 194.2mph

Martins first Escort was faster (just) but was destroyed on the gumball.

Sorry Danny but the guys in Europe know all about the Topspeed record ive been challenged by them to a shootout at Brunters but as yet they aint appeared. A certain Mag has told me several times this is the year they will appear. Power is only about 50% of what Topspeed is about i know ive studied it in detail, use of collected data & experience counts for the other 50%.
Anyone can brag that its easy to eclipse the record but if its that easy why does it still stand 5 years after it was set.

I dont need to challenge anyone they have to do the challenging.
If they name the date my car will be there .
I dont need to finish my car at this time without a date to work towards. Im happier pottering in my garden than racing around in fast cars these days all that stopped about 4 years ago .
