Default MK6 Escort Van Engine Options??

Hi

I have had my MK6 escort van a while now, I needed a work van and as I can't drive anything but ford, or afford a stupidly over priced "Commercial" I bought a 1997 MK6 1.8D

What a pain in the bum my engines been. It's just one thing after another!! broken injectors, broken fuel pipes, split piping, and now, a little rubber nipple that sits on the end of injector four has given up the game............and I can't get one anywhere!! and the scrap yard ones fall apart when you pull them off :-( don't laugh it's not funny ha ha. So now my fuel pressure is down and we're talking 50mph tops on the motorway ha ha and a MPG of about 10!! more crying.

I would like anything but another diesel engine in this van. I'm not buying another, because other than the engine it's a really good motor with not a drop of rust and a year old paint job etc.

Whats going to be the easiest conversion (petrol) into the van, I would like to do the conversion on the drive over a long weekend, and I can buy up all the bits I need in the next week or so if I can!!!! I need the van back on the road as quickly as I can, times money and all that poo.

I was thinking RS Turbo Engine, but I'm open to any suggestions or comments (other than scrap it ha ha) and anyone with experience with a conversion like this.

Straight after it'll be de cambered springs and some coil overs for the front I have in the shed, so it's like a daily/cruise/work wagon type deal.

Any help or suggestions would be great!!

Matt

build a zetec turbo for it and run it on a focus rs box all bolt straight in downside unless you've got the money lying round then you'd have to aquire parts over 6 months but just think how much fun it would be, this is something i might do next year
