Default elements 8 vs photoshop cs4

hi guys ,,

im new to the world of photography having got a nikon d70,i would like to know what you guys who have elements 8 think of its features over photoshop.
im only after basic editing etc for now and couldnt really justify the cost of the new photoshop as its 5 times the price .

You need Lightroom. Elements is for grandma.

Photoshop can come later once you get more experienced. It's not cheap nor easy to master. I do %90 of my editing in Lightroom. I do ALL my cataloguing and organisation in Lightroom.

Your camera should have come with a stitching program. I use neither for my panoramas. i use panorama factory to stitch my shots together.

Lightroom has a 30 day demo. You should try it out.
