I would never ever dream of doing such a thing.

Anybody that has ever bought things off me know i send items recorded, i tell them what day i post it and give them the tracking number.

As above, name and shame so other's don't get caught out.

Don't on mine, and not sure why it would, they don't make any money off it do they? Thats the reason they don't cover you against fraud with gift payments, its for sending money to people you know and trust.

Name and shame the person, its more useful to us.

its a system made for the chancers. those people willing to send as a gift to avoid fees are the ones most likely to rip folk off so absolving ebay/paypal from having to recompense the buyer whos lost out.

Even if you was to send a cheque the person could do the same thing so if you buy something and send as a gift you have to know the person is a regular on here or you know them or people that know them , anyhow its out of order if they dont send what you pay for and who ever it is should be banned and their details forwarded to the person who`s owed the money

I've bought from RS Gus before, a set of wheels, and he was sound to deal with. Well packed and delivered quick

I send a lot of lower value items on standard post as most buyers don't want to pay extra for insured / tracked services. They all want cheap

I would imagine or hope the post strike crap is to blame, as Gus was sound with me over a lot more than a trivial £40, I'm sure he'd have ripped you for more if that was his game.

I didn't ask for cheap postage nor did he ask if i wanted to upgrade, if i was to send anything i'd cover my ass and get it signed for. Even standard parcel has £38 insurance and you get receipt to prove you sent it.
So because it's ONLY £40 its ok? that took me 2 hours away from my kids to earn! i thought its more the principle of it being £1 or £10000 i still don't have what i paid for

I think you totally misunderstand the purpose of my post.

I merely pointed out that he's been sound in a previous transaction and tried to point out possible other reasons for you not getting the item.

Always two sides to a story. Maybe he has ripped you off, in which case I'm sorry to read it . However as I said, I would doubt that very much based on my previous experience. £4, £40 or £400 makes no odds to me, if you pay, you should get your stuff end of.

I said £40 was trivial as in - if I wanted to rip someone off I'd sell an item for £1000 or more, then not send that. £40 in the grand scheme is a pathetic amount to steal. Which is why I'm sure as Gus said, he posted it on standard parcels / post when he said he did. Why nick £40 when you could nick £400?

I personally don't think that Gus would rip you off. I think other factors such as the post being crap would be the more likely reason.

That's all I was saying.

Paypal do make money off it. When paying as a gift, you pay the fees not the person recieving the money like normal.

I am so confident that Gus wouldnt rip you off that if it hasnt shown up when the post is back to normal I will pay you the £40 back myself mate. Gus is as honest as they come and has done 10s of thousands of ££s worth of business with me over the last few years.

Honestly mate, teh post will be to blame here, but you now have me guaranteeing your money back so try and relax a little. My number is 01253 508400.
