Thanks

I'm not sure how many it has, will check. It's the square connection isn't it? My ps3 is connected via an optical lead.

Cheers for the info. Does sky+ have an optical output

yes it is the little square one and yes, sky+ has one, you may find that the sound is a little ahead of the picture, but you can adjust that out on the settinvgs on the sky box

You'll always get a slight delay using optical to your AV receiver, because you'll have to use it in conjunction with a SCART to your TV [unless as said, you can adjust it]

If this is an issue, the other option is to use a SCART to RCA lead, directly into your AV receiver. That'll also be less of a pain in the arse if you have to keep switching your TV between inputs.

Something like THIS will do. Because it's an analogue signal you're better off buying the best quality you can manage in your budget, for the best results. [Not like HDMI where other than the connectors, a £5 lead does the same job as a £50 lead]

The difference in picture this way is minimal [I've tried it both ways]. And because of the way I've mounted my TV, it'd be a pain in the arse to try and plug something else into the back of it.

Obviously you'll need a spare RCA slot or if you upgrade to SkyHD, you can just plug an HDMI into the back of your Receiver, again if you have a spare slot.

Thanks

I'll try the optical route first and adjust it on the sky box to suit. If no joy I'll try what you said.

i run the sky box through the amp via optical, easiest way

depending on which amp you have you can also adjust the sound delay coming in/out to sync it all up
