Default Emission Failure

Ok everyone , I need your help again, please.

My ST24 has just failed its MOT on the emission test. I have got a stainless steel exhaust from the cat back. Is it just a case of a new set of plugs and leads, or is it more serious ?

Thanks in advance

Hi there,
I built up an st24 for my inlaws and it went on the emission's test at about 8% co
this turned out to be the sensor plug on the air box, was just a dodgey connection.
a quick wiggle and it was sorted.

I reckon this could do with going on a diagnostic scan, and a check to see if the lambda sensor's are behaving

Default Emission Failure

I wasn't there when they did the test, so not sure if the fan came on . It doesn't have a cone filter at the moment, although I might fit one in the future. A mechanic told me to stick with the standard air filter/ box.

Have seen a Lambda sensor on Ebay for £35, although most of them are nearer the £80 mark.

Thanks for all your posts. Keep em coming !

Smile Emisions Test Past !

Thanks for all the posts last week, car has now passed its Mot thanks to a blast sown the carriageway to get the soot off the Lambda Sensor.
Next job is a new set of plugs and leads.
Thanks again
