Hi mate
I'm still loving mk4 vans! been doing mine for over 3 years now. I've just fitted a s2 turbo tank, bit of a job but well worth it. I did have the standard van tank with a outlet plumbed into the fuel pump but no joy when the tank gets low.
There is plenty of room, all you need to do is make some brackets up, pump holder etc. I would say the filler neck was the hardest for me, i didn't cut the side of the tank i just used the original inlet with a longer filler neck, seems to work so far!
I'll get some pics up to give you a better idea. If you go for the s2 turbo tank make sure it comes with the sender unit! I brought a new tank (no sender/larger hole as there is two sizes. Think ones MFI and the other is EFI not 100% sure though) and took me ages to find one! wasn't until someone on here helped me, otherwise still be looking...

If your using a turbo tank then a std turbo pump will do it. You can do the tank, if your a confident welder. You MUST flush the tank out / leave to vent before you cut or weld. You need to cut out the swirlpot section from the turbo tank and weld to the van tank, along with the outlets. I am still looking for the picturesn looking like I have lost em!

hmmmm will any swirl pot do?? i was told the swirl pot just stops the perol swishing about?? think im gonna us the rs tank and just make some new brackets up so it fits and adjust the filler neck somehow to fit. that way it will have the swirl pot and sender. ill fit the external pump too and hope for the best. does that sound ok? also im worried about how to wire it all in???????
