I leave my work today! Off to new start in Congo on sunday!

I mentioned here a while back i was considering a crazy move and now it's full steam ahead.

Started with my company May 05 and have spent the last 2.5 years in the office having been offshore before that.

I got offered the chance of a rotational position, 28 days on 28 days off, in Republic of Congo and i took it.

Some might say i'm mad but hey i have to give it a whirl!

Net connection is WANK down there so you might not see as many rants from me

Not sure how it is in the office but i enquired about the net for my appartment and prices are...

...

Setup fee approx £700
24/7 connection £140 PER MONTH
usage per hour £1.40 on a different tariff.

Oh and what connection speed?! 256/512k!!!!!!

Hopefully i'll get connected though as the internet will help me remain sane!

Could you cope with surfing the net all day while getting paid for it? Doubt you could handle it mate. Leaving at 4 pm is a killer too

Google Pointe Noire as thats where im goig. V nice place and a tourist destination for surfers! Cant be that bad!
