my good deed for the day....
pulled up at my unit this afternoon to find a wallet lying on the floor.its very busy round my industrial estate and normally a fair few dodgy characters knocking about........
i had a quick look inside it and there were no credit/debt cards in and nothing with anyones real id in it,and £95.
now if i had gone round asking,i would imagine 20 people would have "lost" it,so i just put it in my toolbox to see if anyone came looking or mentioned it.
about an hour later a car pulled up and a really old chap got out looking flustered-he went into one of the units next to mine and came out with the owner and was looking around.i came outside to see what they were doing and the old boy said he had lost his wallet-i went inside and gave him the wallet, and told him i had found it.he was so pleased and wanted to give me £20 for finding it but i wouldnt take it and told him he was just lucky it had been me who found it.....he had just picked his pension up that day, hence the £95.
he came back an hour later with a bag of apples he had hand picked off his apple trees as a thank you.....made me feel really good.
the horrible thing is the guy who's unit he went into first said "if you had told me first i would have took the money out and split it with you",when i threw him a real bad look he attempted to turn it into a joke but i really do think he was serious!

A couple of months ago i went to the cash point in clacket lane services and the bird in front of me had a child with her and was a bit flustered and she had walked off with her card still in the ATM, if i was dishonest i could have helped myself but i took it out and run after her, she looked shocked lol

I always said you were alright Jay
Sometimes it's hard to perceive how much money is to some people, to some people £95 is a drop in the ocean, to others it's an enormous amount of money! Nice to know all of it found its way back to its rightful owner!

i was at work a while ago, lad was kicking off, runing up and down. i was on the phone. when i eventually got off of it i asked him what was up, he was shouting saying he has lost a score. i help him look, was closing up, turned a corner and found it, layhing there, stupid mug, how he had missed that was beyond be. i pick it up and give it to him. he snatched it off me, walked out saying to thde tilll girl i had magically walked around a corner and 'found it'

end of the day though.. i watched him get into a pile of crap citron ax with chav bits all over, rust shyt etc etc so i felt kinda happy getting onto my car hehehehe

I did a good deed yesterday too.
Whilst walking the dog around our village last night, I saw a old lady stood in the middle of the road in tears. I approached her and asked if she was ok and she said she had come out of her house to post a letter and got lost in the dark and wanted to go home.
Bless her, she kept telling me her address and I took her back there and made sure she was ok. She is 90 years old and lives alone. God knows how long she had been out because her hands were frozen. She tried to offer me some money but I refused. I was just glad it was me who found her and took her home.

FAir play, I would've done the same, I haven't been brought up to be a thief. As for the white stuff and million quid in a case, wouldn't think twice about bagging the cash and probably just dumping the white shit; I'm not a crack shotter nor want to get involved with people that do that sort of thing. Only reason I wouldn't think twice about bagging the cash because of the scum trash that the cash belonged to and the amount of crack/weapons/nasty shit he'd do with the cash.

its funny im getting this was i would of been the first to keep it or never give money away etc.
but this last year im a changed man, i have direct debits coming out of my bank account every month for cancer research and the rspcc, i even gave a fiver to a door caller the other day collecting for some charity, as long as all the money i give doesnt line someones pockets and directly gos to the charity ill help.
i fugure in life its time to give something back, not a lot but something, why shouldnt we help even if its only a couple quid a month.
i feel so much better in myself too knowing im doing something, in a weird stupid way i also feel someone is looking down on me and rewarding me for my goodness too as my income is much better since lol.
i know it sounds daft and maybe even like i only do it for self benefit but im glad i done it im a better person for it.

well done mate, nice to know there are people out there with such honesty! I would have done the same...probs would have said to me boss or somin that ive found this and would have logged it in the lost property book!
Working for a cab firm we get lots of mobiles/purses/wallets etc etc left on vehicles, many a time people have phoned up and we have been able to reunite their belongings but some times....the item is no longer in the vehicle...unfortunately passengers that follow behind them are not always honest and will take it with them when they leave the cab.....not a lot can be done when you dont know about it but when we do get people their belongings and you see their face light up...makes it all worth while!
I would like to think that if i lost my phone/purse that someone would do the same for me!

I would of done the same, handed the wallet back if i knew who's it was.
Once i found a wallet on the floor, not in full vew, opened it up to see if it had any personal details inside it, such as id to trace, and there was about 150inside, but no ID.
so just poped it down to the police sation and they said if its not collected in two weeks the money is yours. two weeks later it wasnt collected.
so i taken it down to the local Air Ambulance and donated it all. wasnt my money at the end of the day, wasnt collected, and the police spoken to the owners who has the shop it was lost at, and told them if somenoe comes foward to send them over to the police sation.
