I had a brand new ap racing paddle clutch which cost me £300 ish. It was kindly swapped for an older one which didnt have much life left in it,the one that i was actually replacing! my brand new 1 never got near my car. Webber Beige injectors i had was swapped for some beige injectors that were not webber.............

RE: RC Developments.

From what i understand, one of the major players was syphoning off customers money to his personal account over maybe 18-24 months and just buying the said customers parts in on company credit.. unknown to the guys in the workshop AKA Clive looked after the workshop side of things while the other guy took care of orders and dealing with billing the customers etc.

Rough idea of what happened and then when they where made bankrupt they done a firesale of parts they had before the creditors got hold of anything!

 

Friend of mine had a VW corrado that went into the local family run garage for an m.o.t. The father and owner of the company said his left headlight and holding bracket was rotten/loose causing the headlight beam pattern to be off, and that he needed to order a new one from germany, modify it "because the car was lowered" :s?, then fit it. All for the resonable sum of £280!
Before we left the garage we checked the "work" to find a piece of offcut metal held on by two piegon shit blobs of weld onto the orignal headlight bracket.
Needless to say we left without paying.

 

From what i've been told, there were a lot of irregularities in the finances and the FQ400 engine that went missing etc. all filtered back to one of the directors. Clive was purely workshop based and just signed cheques that were brought through to him so had no idea until such time as the other director went away on his honeymoon and then it started to come out...

 

Kwik Fit are scum! Whenever I go with my car, I have to wait hours and hours because I am motability. Then, I am told my tires have a good 500 miles left in them and to come back again after I've sat for hours in an empty place, watching other customers come and go without a booking. Not to mention on that particular occasion Ford told me after the service they were on the legal limit and to go straight there!

Pisses me right off, I am banned from most in Liverpool for causing trouble and I was having to go over the water. I've worked out from speaking to other Motability customers, they are paid a certain ammount to do the tyres, so don't really care how you are treated because they have your business anyway.

Anyway, last time I went I just walked in and said 'Can you give my tires the once over mate?' As if I owned the car myself. He told me all the things it needed, and I said I wanted tyres simiair to those fitted. 'You need these ones mate, you have to have them, Ford reccomend them and we only fit them to this model, the Zetec', so I was agreeing. When he gave me a bill I said 'Oh? That'll be for Motability mate.

His face hit the floor, and he started back-chatting and stuttering and telling me how I don't get those on motability, I get these and so on. I was like 'Hey, I said put on what it needs, and you said I had to have these certain tires for safety'.

Then the manager came and everything he said I was like 'The expert told me...' They were trying to take the tires back off me, offer me them at a discount and everything. I told him I got my tires as part of the contract, and we was going round in circles with him saying I don't get them tires, and me saying 'The expert said I need them, I never asked for anything more than I need'.

Needless to say I left with them telling me they were going to call the Police and Motability, and what not. My last words were 'Funny, for the first time ever, I never had to spend three hours in an empty queue'.

When I went back for a knocking noise, I was asked to leave and told never to come back again. 'You're a theif, and we don't do thiefs in here'. I then said 'You'll have to shut up the shop then, mate'. Looks like I'll be buying my own tires from now on which is a shame as I need some and I'm skint. Unless I go out of the Northwest.

i went to quick fit with one of my escort gti,s on a sunday because nowhere else was open. i needed the 2 rear tyres replacing and i was told i needed new drums because they were dented (hammer rash) from when i did the brakes oh and i needed a new rear radious arm all for a tidy sum of 470 i laughed at him for a minute or 2 then left

 

mate of mine paid a garage to do his mot jobs, sum of £350. Sent it for a mot else where and it failed on everything that had supposed to of been done!

 

Have you ever tried getting a puncture repaired at Kwik Fit,seems no matter how much tread you have they say you need a new one,I just tell them to piss of,repair it or I go somewhere reliable.They have been on Tv loads of time over the years because of trying to con people into having work done thats not needed,and they are still f**cking doing it,they need stoping.
I use my mates garage for all my work,trust him fully and usually get interest free credit,well ok when im skint he does the work and waits for the money,cant say fairer than that,he is the only person I would recomend to customes looking for a garage for their repairs or MOT`s,yes he does make mistakes who doesnt and he is human,but he allways sorts them out without a problem,saying that though he has never made any mistakes on my cars.

when i worked in a dealership a 36k service already had front and rear discs and pads written on the parts list before the car came in if it was a lease car.

If somebody is robbing bits of your car, I'd call trading standards and the police! Particularly if you have the reciepts for the upgraded bits.

On the note of Kwik Fit, i've seen a couple of nasty bodges! I knew somebody that got them to fit an exhaust, it didn't fit properly (because it was for the wrong clio) so they made some 'adjustments'. She complained it was making an odd noise, they tried to charge her, stuck my head underneath and it had been welded to the exhaust mounts that fitted closest! I shit you not!

Hi. Well you've guessed it.............. He has robbed the book of history inc receipts,mot's and everything else. I can prove some of the items as the car was a magazine feature some while back. Not sure i would use the word odd....... You dont know the whole story/situation remember. I have not gone thru the whole story as the turd goes on this site you c. I have only recently found out about most of the things that have gone from the car. Although if you've not had something like this happen to you or people you know and if you don't know people like this then I guess you could think it's odd.

Yes he is. Car was left in a right state with some parts missings and the other parts had been replaced with knackered old shit. Would of gone kicked off and waited for police but round here they would just nick me and then probably pat him on the back. Someone else called the police to report it when he had them over and they basically said they would do nothing about it and that you have to learn from your mistakes and not let it happen to you again. So seemingly round here the police do not mind people being thieves etc and think that if you are one who's been had you should not expect anything to be done about it by them or yourself!

 

On the subject of robbing garages, when i first got my s2 (10 years ago now) I knew jack about them. Friends had recommended swillington auto care near us so took it there for plenty of work doing over the following months. One occasion I took it in as it wasnt holding boost steady. He told me the ecu had developed a fault and needed repairing at a cost of £250!! I asked if I could just put a 2nd hand one on as I was proper skint, reply was "theres too many different types and the chances of getting the same one are very rare". What!!! Like a mug I paid it and that cunt will have just gone into his parts loft and fitted a 2nd hand hearts and diamonds ECU that probably cost him a fiver tops. Robbing twat, had loads of this from him until I started to read up on cars and realised what a crook he was. Stay well away from them, just blown a mates VX220 engine up after setting it up.
