How can I connect my PS3 to my laptop?
so that I can view media files?
The PS3 can see my computer, but when i try to connect it says
'access to the media server is not allowed, it is possible that the system name for the PS3 has not been registered.Check the settings for the media server'
what do i need to do?

Hello m8, have a look here for some help. You have to make sure you have windows media player running. I never stream stuff over my network, I simply just copy it from my pc to the PS3.

go into media platyer and enable media sharing. iirc i had to enable it for unidentified devices as well before my ps3 would play ball.
also need to enable the relevant bits on the PS3 video settings liek show all files and WMV/ATRAC playback.

When I did it in Vista, Once you enable the media sharing it came to a network box with my account name, and I just selected everybody from the list and then add with read only access.
It depends what version of Windows you are running, and the same with windows media player.

I can't see the pictures as I'm at work. I have found the way I do it, is to load the files into the windows media player library. The on the PS3 go to the media server ( in my case Buffy which is what my computer is called ) then click through all the folders. It does take some fucking around to get this to work, and I'm a computer genius

The ladies love it French
Yeah as above, I've used Tversity before, worked great. Although I don't use it much now, I just access my porn straight through the onboard PS3 internet browser if I want to watch on the big screen
