Testing the future
for price of flights look on ryanair
for car hire look at rentawreck
for ticket price look at the gatebil website
as chip says, food and drink is expensive as is fuel etc. i stayed in oslo for about €100 a night and it was a couple of hours drive from there, but you don't say which meet you want to go to. don't speed as it will end up very expensive.

There is a dfds container ferry going from Hull to Brevik, with a car i recon it is around 400-500£ each way..
From there it is about 2hour drive to tonsberg, where you can take a ferry to Moss, and from there is aprox an 1hour drive to rudskogen.
I would recommend taking norwegian from gatwick to Rygge, and a rental car from there to rudskogen. (1hour drive)
There are several hotels to choose from, altough to really catch the atmosphere you should bring along a tent and sleep over at least one night at the track.
Norway is expensive, also at the moment the norwegian currency is really strong, making everything 20% more expensive compared to the "regular" currency.
